Questions from blending teams
Can blenders see current strength and volume for every cask?
Yes. Regauges and samples are recorded against the cask as dated events. The original OLA is kept, and the current RLA is what vattings, sales and reports use.
Can we search casks by flavour profile?
Flavour-profile selection and sample requests are coming soon. Today every sample is recorded against its cask with tasting notes for nose and palate, and every cask carries its regauges and full history, which the Vatting Run Wizard works from.
How are vattings recorded?
Cask by cask. Each input cask is disgorged at its regauged figure, and when the vatting is finalised Provenate separates the loss in storage from the loss in the operation and posts both to the W1.
Does the blending team need a separate system from finance?
No. The vatting the blending team records is the same record finance uses for duty, cost per litre of pure alcohol and stock value.
