Provenate began when Gonzalo Escandarani and Paul Hutchinson combined their backgrounds in software engineering, product development, and operational consulting. After working closely with distilleries and bottlers, we saw the same challenge everywhere: production data, cask movements, duty reports, and financial information were scattered across spreadsheets, legacy systems, and manual processes. Nothing in the market truly reflected how a modern distillery operates.
The whisky world is both traditional and highly regulated. Distilleries need precision, traceability, and compliance, yet the tools available were slow, rigid, and not built for the realities of day-to-day production. We realized the industry deserved something better — a platform designed from the ground up for spirit producers, not repurposed from other sectors.
That’s why we created Provenate. A single system that connects production, stock, duty, and finance, with the clarity and reliability that distilleries, owners, and investors need. Every feature comes from real conversations, real workflows, and real operational pain points inside distilleries.
