For independent bottlers
Casks bought, vatted, bottled and sold, on one record
Your stock arrives as casks from other people's stills. Provenate tracks who owns each one, what's really in it, and every vatting and bottling run it goes into, then calculates duty as your orders ship.

Sound familiar?
Cask ownership tracked in email and spreadsheets.
Book stock and measured stock drifting apart between regauges.
Labels, closures and cartons that never quite reconcile with the bottles filled.
How Provenate works for independent bottlers
Casks · Ownership
Cask management software that knows who owns each cask
- Every cask carries its current owner, account and full ownership history
- Ownership kept separate from warehouse location
- A cask sale reserves the cask, and ownership transfers when payment is confirmed

Warehouses · Sampling
How do regauges keep book stock honest?
- Every regauge a dated event: method, volume, strength, temperature, operator
- OLA preserved, with the current RLA used by vattings, sales and reports
- The book-vs-actual difference posted to the correct W1 period

Vatting Run Wizard
Vattings recorded cask by cask
- Each input cask disgorged at its regauged figure
- Storage loss and operational loss on separate lines
- Bulk and LPA losses calculated for you

Products · Dry stock
Bottling runs and single-cask releases that reconcile
- Set up each bottle, blend or single cask once and reuse it on every run
- Bottling runs draw down bulk spirit and dry stock together
- Labels, closures and cartons reconcile with every bottle filled

Orders · HMRC returns
Duty on release, calculated as orders ship
- Orders draw from real stock and calculate duty as they ship
- Every order linked to its batch, its stock and its duty record
- W1, W5 and your Alcohol Duty return built from the same records

FAQ
Questions from independent bottlers
Does Provenate work for bottlers who don't distil?
Yes. Provenate is built for whisky distilleries and bottlers. Casks, regauges, vattings, bottling runs and duty are recorded the same way whether you filled the cask or bought it.
Can we track casks we buy and sell?
Yes. Every cask carries its current owner and full ownership history, separate from where it sits. Cask sale orders capture the RLA, strength and price per LPA, so the invoice and the cask record tell the same story.
Can we release single casks?
Yes. Each bottle, blend or single cask is set up once as a product, with its duty class, packaging and cost, and reused on every run.
How are vatting losses recorded?
When a vatting is finalised, Provenate separates the loss in storage (book against measured) from the loss in the operation (measured in against measured out) and posts both to the W1.
